If you enjoy pushing-puzzle games, you will probably enjoy Heartlight. It is indeed light-hearted (ha!) puzzle fare from Epic Megagames (one of their earlier games). The graphics are okay for a puzzle game (VGA), and there seems to be a good number of different levels to try.(Note: You have to run SETUP.EXE before you can play. Heartlight is a classic puzzle game released in 1994 for MS-DOS, developed by Janusz Pelc and published by Epic MegaGames. The game is part of the Epic Puzzle Pack, which also includes Electroman and Adventures of Captain Comic. Heartlight is a charming, top-down puzzle game that combines elements of strategy, timing, and logic. Gameplay In Heartlight, players control a small elf named Percival as he navigates through a series of increasingly challenging levels. The objective is to collect all the hearts in a level and reach the exit while avoiding obstacles and hazards. Core Mechanics: Boulders and Falling Objects: Percival must maneuver around or use boulders strategically. These objects fall when unsupported and can block paths or crush the player. Hazards: Explosive bombs, spikes, and other dangers must be avoided. Timing and planning are crucial to navigate safely. Puzzle Solving: Players must think carefully about the order in which they move and collect items, as improper planning can render a level unsolvable. Level Design: The game features dozens of levels, each with unique layouts and challenges. Some puzzles require precision movement, while others focus on logical sequencing. Features Colorful Graphics: Despite its simplicity, the game’s bright, cheerful graphics and sprite-based design make it visually appealing. Catchy Soundtrack: Lighthearted music and sound effects complement the gameplay and add to the game's charm. Level Progression: Levels increase in difficulty, ensuring a steady learning curve for players. Save Functionality: Players can save their progress, making it easy to tackle challenging levels at their own pace.
